Short story: the Tonewinner D4000 blows everything out of the water. It hits harder digs deeper and has crazy chest slam and dynamics, not only that it is quite musical. There is a lot of body to the bass, definitely get the svs soundpath isolation feet for this, as it will shake your house. The sub has a flat frequency response in my room
I was looking for a subwoofer to compliment the HSU VTF-15H MK2 that I already have in my home theatre. Living in Canada, I didn’t want to go through the hassle with ordering from the US and dealing with paying shipping and duty again for another HSU subwoofer, especially with the current exchange rate. I was looking at the Tone Winner SW-D6000 to match the 15’ driver in the HSU but I don’t have the space for another large subwoofer. In speaking with Aamir from Summit Hi-Fi, he suggested the Tone Winner SW-D4000 as he said it would still be a good match but with a smaller footprint as I was looking for.
I know it is not recommended to mix and match subwoofer brands and especially driver sizes, but I would be using a MiniDSP 2x4 HD to calibrate and align the 2 subwoofers. I set up the D4000 in Deep Mode and taking measurements using REW and a UMIK 1 mic, I was surprised to see how well the frequency response for the D4000 was able to match the HSU. The output of the D4000 was also easily keeping up with the larger HSU subwoofer. With the subwoofers properly aligned, I am happy to say that I was able to smooth out the peaks and nulls in my room and greatly increase the amount of subwoofer slam!
As many before me have mentioned, Aamir from Summit Hi-Fi is pleasure to deal with. He is very knowledgeable and willing to help any way he can. He was even answering my calls on a long weekend when I had questions regarding setup. I highly recommend Summit Hi-Fi and will be a returning customer.

I bought two of these subs to replace my Polk HTS 10’s. As soon as I hooked them up I played some music and there was a significant and noticeable improvement. These subs hit low!! Where they really shine though is with movies. I decided to test them out with a random X-Men movie. There was a scene where there was a car wreck and these things shook the entire house. my 11 year-old daughter, came out of her room with this very concerned look on her face, she didn’t know what was happening and things started rattling off of her dresser in her room!!’ I don’t have them yet. Need to get proper room calibration done in the immediate future. And I know they sound so much better once that is completed. I’m super happy with this purchase
After a great deal of going back and fourchette about purchasing these subwoofers, I pulled the trigger on these beauties! and I must say that they impress ! who says small box can't deliver, these DELIVER ! I'm a major bass head so I'm going to upgrade to dual D6000 because I'm in a open basement wich is pretty large. Even though my space is huge, these 12 inchers deliver clean dynamic bass and low rumbles. Can't wait to try the D6000's. Aamir is a very nice guy, friendly and knows his stuff. Will buy from Aamir anytime..
